I do mathematics and stand-up. Sometimes simultaneously. Occasionally while being filmed. (It's quite the Venn diagram.)

Using an Out-of-Control Car to Calculate π.

Using an Out-of-Control Car to Calculate π.
The solution is easy: they put the first stone before the first decade has passed, so they are 1 stone/decade ahead, so don’t put a stone the next decade
soo, if the game checks for how many ticks you were falling, and see if it fits that triangle number(and in a boat), it could detect not to damage you then? hmmm sounds like an easy fix somehow.
smash
there is no way the beginning blocks won't have crumbled to dust by the the time you get to the end. Unless they made them out of Roman concrete.
I SOLVED IT a = 1 2/3 b = 10 5/6 c = 20 d = 29 1/6 e = 38 1/3 Pen and paper only :)
To even be considered as Generic Viewer. I am honoured.
False. My 5G phone doesn't do anything faster than my 4G phone.
Could we get a close up pic of the glyph they used for pi?
I feel a little off about this concept, because for some of those squaroid sections to end up on the same face of the resulting cuboid, that's basically saying that 'there are 11 nets of a cube, so long as we follow these rules, let me show you what I can make when we throw one of those rules out.' The non-orthogonal approach throws a similar, but different rule out. I had the initial thought that this reminded me somehow of the 'all angles except for one are 90°' concept, and as you're assembling the sqrt5 cube, it clicked that it's exactly the same. What's with your posting of icky math vids? Take my like, but not my comfort.
Anyone else see the Superman logo?
wake up babe new orbital shape dropped
not on ground not in air you are in water
Maybe we have defined Pi incorrectly all these years. Instead of a constant that multiplies the square of the radius to find the area, maybe Pi should have been defined as a constant that multiplies the radius first, before squaring the result. That constant would of course be the root of Pi, which happens to equal Gamma (½). Interesting that the area of a circle is half the diameter multiplied by Gamma (½) all squared. That Gamma function just keeps popping up everywhere.

But what was Ark-Mose's Erdős number?
The energy ellipsoid and the momentum ellipsoid use different units of measure so they cannot be compared unless they are brought into conformity by some sort of normalization. I didn’t see any mention of this in the video.
*soprano saxophone But since it's a video about errors it's pretty apt ;-)
on the last decade when the initial pyramid is finished, Place a grand statue that bridges the top four blocks. I say it should be gold
Really great video. I have a little interest in fraction use in the past and/or in cultures. Nice shameless book promotion 🙂. I have enjoyed your books. Cheerful Calculations.
Great video, loved it, wonderful fun! Should have tried n=pi
I love Matt generally and this video...but it's frustrating that he keeps saying greatest common *denominator* when he means greatest common *factor*.
Will every net that can be folded into a cuboud also tile the plane?
That’s oddly scary
BS! 5G sucks! It is horrible and is the biggest ripoff in history. The attenuation of 5G makes it only work over short distances, like cities and large metro areas. Any distance from the tower and 5G is useless.
This guy finally did it. He worked out how to rotate text in paint.
18:41 Someone said that Python is kinda just executable pseudocode for him. And I understand where he comes from.
I see multiple non right angles
proof by induction base case :1 < 20 inductive hypothesis: n < 20n => (n+1) < 20(n+1) proof: assuming n < 20n n+1 < 20(n+1) n+1 < 20n + 20 n < 20n + 19 which is true due to the assumption that n < 20n and the property that a < b => a < b + c, QED therefore, for every n (up to "infinity"), a pack of 20$ is greater in value than a pack of 1$
true answer: inifnity isn't materially real, the question makes no sense, like saying "a square circle"
I'm wondering if concrete will even be a thing by then. Imagine the last few blocks being some sort of alien material.
Shouldn't this be an Egyptian museum in stead?
4:50 SZA CONGRUENCE??!!
Yes, we know your code is inefficient. It's Python.
Brilliant explanation, thanks!

In 500 years someone is going to “rediscover” these. And think they were used for some religious purpose lol
I bet someone will have an extremely interesting time watching this in about 1170 years
A simple solution is that at 1200th year, they install a SQUARE PYRAMID ON TOP OF THE 4 CUBOIDS AT THE TOP. Philosophically this will make the structure point towards the sky to signify that we will keep on going, and this is just end of an era. It will give a smooth ending to 1200 year long structure and won't make it look like a flat top structure at the end. Moreover it will signify that human's do make mistakes, and in the end we can fix it with a simple solution and beautify the mistake.
I feel like this has a lot of problems, seems like no one thought about the degradation of materials
*tells my friend I am buying a book called love triangle* Them: You read romance?? Me: No, I read trigonometry
I mean I'm hearing a lot about how tight Engels was, but c'mon Marx also had some things right!
this is why you always hire a fence builder to oversee your pyramid construction timeline i thought that was common knowledge
I blame annuities. IYKYK
Does anyone have the dimensions of the new 45 degree solid?
I think they just design a really cool capstone for the end of the decade.
Maybe suggest that they could cut some corners by making round stop signs. Additional pros: they will be a lot less distracting! Cons: None - geometry doesn't matter.
I find the WRONG geometry so distracting that I almost get into an accidents.
